USA Student Visa Process

Students can begin visa application once they receive an offer of admission and I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) from the chosen university or college in the United States. An F1 student visa for the USA can be issued up to 120 days in advance of your course of study start date. However, you will not be allowed to enter the United States on F1 status earlier than 30 days.

Steps to apply USA Student Visa:

    1. Get an offer letter and the I-20 from a chosen university
    2. Submit Online Non-immigrant Visa Application (DS-160)
    3. Pay your visa fee: USD 160
    4. Schedule appointment for biometrics & visa interview
    5. Pay SEVIS fee: USD 350
    6. Attend biometrics process
    7. Interview at the US Embassy
      Although US Embassy doesn’t ask any documents except passport but it’s highly recommended to carry following documents along.
      • Appointment Confirmation
      • Visa & SEVIS Fee Receipt
      • DS-160 submission confirmation
      • Original Passport
      • Acceptance letter and I-20 Form of the University
      • Financial documents
      • Test scores
      • Academic Documents

8. Collect passport from the VFS

Canada Student Visa Process

Students can start visa applications once they receive confirmation of their enrolment in your chosen university or college. It is best to apply as early as possible.

Steps to apply Canadian Study Permit:

  1. Get an offer letter from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
  2. Pay tuition fee for the first year of study
  3. Purchase of Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)
  4. Get medical examination done by IRCC approved doctor
  5. Visa application process: Students will need to provide the following documents as per SDS checklist:
      • Visa Application Form
      • Original valid passport with photocopy of the Bio data page
      • Family information form.
      • An Acceptance Letter issued by the SDS Educational institute in Canada
      • Proof of English Proficiency Test
      • Academic Documents
      • Receipt of Payment of Tuition fee
      • Evidence of GIC purchase
      • Student Questionnaire
      • Medical test result conducted only by approved panel doctors
  1. Visa outcome: After receiving the passport, you will get to know about the outcome of your Canadian student visa application.
